Common Core for Language Learners -- Hands-on seminars introduce educators to research-based strategies for supporting language learners (ESL classrooms, sheltered classrooms, bilingual and dual language classrooms) in acquiring the language necessary to meet the linguistic demands of the Common Core State Standards in Math and Language Arts.

Differentiating Curriculum for Diverse Learners – Hands-on seminars introduce educators to research-based strategies for reaching all students including non-native English speakers, students with dis/Abilities, high-achieving students, struggling students etc.  Topics addressed in this strand can include:

differentiation strategies (i.e. assessment, grouping, curriculum design, instructional strategies)

• math, reading, & writing differentiation strategies and curriculum design
• social studies, history, and science  strategies and curriculum design that engage all learners
• culturally responsive curriculum and teaching
• multicultural curriculum and design
• integrating technology to meet the needs of diverse learners
• adolescent development in diverse settings
• academically rigorous after school programs

Scaffolding Learning for Language Learners – These interactive workshops help educators understand how to make academic content accessible for multilingual students. Topics in this strand can include:

• key strategies for making content accessible to students learning English (i.e. SIOP, TWIOP)
  
• curriculum design that focuses on language acquisition
• dispositions educators need to reach their ESL students
• ESL and bilingual education curriculum design and instructional strategies
• making content comprehensible for second language learners in bilingual and ESL programs

New Teacher Support (e.g. behavior management, organizational and communication strategies etc.)
